I absolutely love using play-dough with my toddler and preschooler. It’s so smooshie, colorful and I love how easy it is to use to come up with fun and educational activities. I definately recommend Eco-Kids Eco-Dough for kids. It’s made with non-toxic, natural ingredients and a little rosemary for a nice smell! Check out Play-dough Slicing for another fun play-dough activity!
This activity is best for toddlers (18-36 monthes), but it might vary on your child’s skill level. It’s an easy activity, so I’m sure any toddler will catch on.
Try these toddler activities as well:
Sorting is fun, especially using colors! Viktor (2) had fun with this for a long time, playing with the colorful balls, taking them on and off the color-coordinated “plates”.

Use at least 3 different colors of play-dough. Make a flat piece, “plate”, for each color. Then roll as many balls as you can of each color. Toddler has to match and place each ball onto the correct colored piece of play-dough.
What is my child learning?
-Fine motor skills
Color sorting are great activities for toddlers because they help exercise and improve fine motor skills, since the toddler has to pick up relatively small pieces of playdough. It also helps them learn colors and match them as well!
Now get some Eco-Dough and get to learning!
